Believing, Becoming, Being

About the Project

The mural will read Believing, Becoming, Being where each letter has a background image of a student-made artwork. Students will submit their artwork and help paint the 30 x 7 foot mural at Sac State.

How To Get Involved

• Submit an image digitally for inclusion in the design.
• Sign up to paint over 2-4 days at Sac State during spring break.
• Project and trace on Tuesday, March 26, 7-9PM,
• Paint on Thursday March 28, 3-6/7pm AND Friday March 29, 1-6pm AND Possibly over the weekend.

What to Submit

• Submit any kind of 2d artwork you’ve made! Drawing, painting, photography, collage, cartoon…
• Use an image you already have or make a new one.
• Image can be 8×8 inches or 10 inches tall by 6 to 8 inches wide.
• Artwork submitted will be altered slightly to be monochrome in shades of magenta, cyan, or yellow.
• Each student’s artwork will be assigned a letter Believing (9), Becoming (8), Being (5): 22 letters total
• Each student will get a letter in the mural
• DEADLINE – You have until Friday, March 1st to submit an image or two

Come Ready to Paint

Show up ready to paint! Our wall is 30 feet by 7 feet! If you can, please bring gloves and brushes. Items available on-site include paint, small containers, some brushes, paint pens, guidance, and drop cloths. Yes, you can bring friends and parents. Daily parking on campus is $8, 2 hour permits are $4. Daily/hourly permits are valid for Student/Daily spaces only during peak hours M-F until 4:30pm. During off-peak hours (M-F 4:30pm-midnight and weekends), daily permits are also valid in Faculty/Staff spots. Please be sure to check signage carefully!

Permits may be purchased at self-serve kiosks throughout the parking lots/structures as well as through PayByPhone. License plate numbers are required as all permits are now virtual. Exact change is required to use cash in the kiosks. Visa, MasterCard and OneCard are also accepted for payment. Parking rules are enforced 24 hours a day. Sign up for a PayByPhone account and download the PayByPhone app. When you arrive on campus, enter location number “5115” into the app to pay your parking fee. Purchase a permit in our online parking portal.
