Birds & Bikes Show at Axis
October 2 @ 12:00 pm – November 1 @ 5:00 pm
Axis Gallery is proud to announce Birds & Bikes, a collaborative art exhibition bringing together regional artists to explore the poetic intersections of avian flight and human motion. Running from October 2 through November 1, 2026, the exhibition showcases a dynamic range of works from intricate metal sculptures and imaginative textile art to curated gallery shop goods, celebrating the beauty of migration alongside the engineering of daily travel.
The exhibition features a direct partnership with the City of Sacramento Office of Arts and Culture (OAC) Art in Public Places program and North Natomas Jibe. Birds & Bikes serves as an artistic tie-in to the upcoming Birds and Benches project, which will install artist-designed public benches across North Natomas Regional Park.
Visitors are invited to experience the unique ecology and transit identity of the Natomas Basin through a collaborative lens, discover one-of-a-kind art pieces, and browse handcrafted items in the East Gallery Pop-Up Shop.
Participating artists include Antonia Price, Sokthea Chan*, Linda Clark Johnson, Nathan Coldwater, Kate Farrall, Sandy Fong Whetstone, Cara Gregor*, Jordin Hinton, Heather Hogan*, Maris Kaplan, Tanya Lieberman, Elise Mahan*, Lo’Vonia Parks, Judy Coates Perez, Samuel Rose, Jenna Savage, Michelle Sharf, and Alex Williams.
