About a year ago I was doodling to keep my head a little more clear. On those days when I felt burned out—just being creative in a small way felt good. Friends encouraged me to transform those doodles into something more tangible so I cut them out of paper, then wood, then aluminum. During this process of sanding, priming, spraying on layers of color and clear-coat these shapes took on new meaning.
The curves, shadows, and gradients ebb and flow like thoughts and routines. Named like runes and fortunes, they playfully answer silent questions and bring lightness and color to indoor or outdoor spaces. Reminding you that life is joyous even when it feels less so.
At the end of each day there is always more work to do. So fuck that noise and relax.
What do you want more of?
Light up that intention. Whether it’s to drink more water, walk the dog or have more sex (or naps). The doodle pointing at the faucet, leash, or bed will remind you to live loudly and rest proudly.New works in aluminum of flowing shapes and gradient colors on cut aluminum. A mix of soft curves and hard metal evoking shooting stars, spirit guides, and ancient language. An ode to color, technology, and positive/negative space, this exhibition invites the viewer to delight in these playful works.
