On Tuesday, July 7th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Prism Art Space in Midtown Sacramento hosted the Sublimation Collage on Fabric Workshop – Birds, Bikes & Sips. Led by Prism resident artist and Makerspace professor Heather Hogan, the evening combined hands-on crafting with community socializing.
What Happened
- Sip & See: Attendees kicked off the night by grabbing a complimentary glass of wine, beer, or bubbly water, mingling with fellow makers during an icebreaker.
- Get Crafty! Participants were guided through the art and science of sublimation printing. They designed and arranged custom visual layouts, practicing on scraps before finalizing their main masterpieces.
- The Big Press: Using heat and pressure, attendees transferred their custom designs directly into the fibers of a canvas tote bag. They also created custom coasters or a mousepad to take home while wrapping up their drinks and admiring everyone’s finished functional art. Some students scanned and printed custom images on the spot!

The workshop cost $55 per person, which included expert instruction, one drink ticket, and all necessary sublimation printing and crafting supplies.
