Margaritas and Mystic Printmaking

October 2, 2024 @ 6:00 pm 8:30 pm

Celebrate the lives of those who have passed on and pay respect to our ancestors by gathering in communal learning of the ancient craft of printmaking. Choose from pagan and astrological designs or bring your own mirror-image, black and white design at 4 x 6 inches or smaller for your custom stamp.

Students will learn to trace a design, carve a stamp, roll up ink, and print on paper and fabric, ultimately creating a custom drawstring bag and/or flower-sack towel. Bring a shirt or scarf if you want to print on it during the class. We will roll up black and turquoise fabric ink.

Your investment in me-time is $50 and that includes:

  • Hands on instruction for 2 hours
  • Ink for paper and fabric and brayers to roll up ink
  • Speedy carve printmaking blocks
  • Use of cutting tools with different blade sizes
  • Numerous designs to choose from
  • Learn to trace your design onto the block
  • Materials for test printing
  • Cards, Muslin bags, fabric squares to print on and keep
  • A handout with instructions and material source
  • A margarita, glass of wine or N/A beverage and snacks

Each student leaves with their carved block to keep and prints made in class. It takes the full 2.5 hours.
